Today I’m encouraging some bad behavior, to spend your money that is. Believe me, you will want to add this to your makeup collection. You must know, on most days this mom favors a tinted moisturizer before reaching for a full coverage foundation. Having two kids and zero minutes to get yourself ready, a skin tint is the way to go. I’ve definitely found my go-to for spring.
I’m talking about NARS VELVET MATTE SKIN TINT with an SPF of 30, a lightweight skin tint protecting your skin from the sun and giving it a beautiful natural look. It comes in twelve different shades, which can cater to several if not all skin complexions.
Sephora Website Product Description: This oil-free formula wears comfortably, maintaining skin’s natural moisture barrier while working to control shine throughout the day. Transparent Blurring Powders help to blur imperfections, even the look of skintone, and smooth the appearance of pores and fine lines. The powders’ unique, spherical shape compresses like a cushion, delivering a velvety-smooth, touchable feel and superior comfort on application. Vitamins C, E, and broad spectrum SPF 30 protect against free-radical damage caused by environmental stress. Simply touch and go for an effortlessly perfected look.
Application: I first applied my daily moisturizer and color correcting concealer, no primer. On this day, I applied the skin tint with a real technique buffer brush. However, I prefer how it looks after applying it with a beauty sponge. Next, I set the tint with a translucent powder to prolong the matte look. I finished the look with some bronzer, blush, mascara and lipstick.
Throughout the day it is very comfortable on the skin. Does it blur imperfections? Yes, blur is the key word it doesn’t cover them but makes them less visible. Applying a sizable amount can add more coverage. At 7 1/2 hours the tint started to fade under my eyes. I became oily on my t-zone (forehead, nose area) this is normal for my skin with any liquid foundation, bb cream or tinted moisturizer.
didn’t settle in my fine lines (around my mouth)
CONS: smells a little harsh
feels a bit sticky when you first apply the product (powder can help with this)
Overall, it is an amazing product that will last you a while, especially if you don’t use makeup everyday. While NARS cosmetics have expensive products, this one is worth spending your money on.
Thanks for stopping by!
